Softball

One of the greatest misconceptions in sport is that softball is harder than baseball to grasp. It's nice to think that Softball maybe as hard as Baseball, the reality is the Baseball is in a completely different league (no pun intended).

There are many points you could use in argument to prove softball's inferiority compared to baseball. Firstly Baseball was created first and softball was only created to off a less complicated and overall easier alternative. Some even say it was only created so girls could play with the boys!

One of the most obvious signs that Softball is inferior is the fact the ball itself is twice the size of a baseball. This is used to make it easier to strike the ball. It's no surprise that younger kids find Softball easier for hitting long runs. Softball bats are also a lot bigger than the average baseball bat, with the "power zone" making it even easier to hit the ball.

A baseball field is 390 feet to the center and 330 down the lines. A softball pitch is 200 feet long. The longer the pitch the harder it is to catch batters out. The shorter the pitch means it's a lot easier to catch a player out. Also top baseball players are throwing balls in excess of 100 miles an hour. A top Softball player is barely hitting 70 miles an hour.

Another point is the fact some softball players are known to wear pants. Pants are worn because they hardly have the need to slide on the pitch due to the lack of intensity.

But the main and best point to use to showcase Softball's inferiority is that Baseball is one of the most popular sports in America today.
